Information for Authors

Editorial Policy. International Geology Review will consider for publication in-depth reviews as well as original and timely research papers dealing with the petrotectonic framework of the earth and the distribution of mineral and energy resources within that framework. Papers addressing the economic potential of mineral and energy resources, and the environmental consequences of human activities, especially resource production, are encouraged. Geographic coverage is global and work on any part of the world will be considered. Research papers focused on areas in South America, the former Soviet Union, East and Southeast Asia, and Africa continue to be encouraged. Manuscripts of any length may be submitted, but the Editors will generally accept for publication papers in the range of 4,000 to 10,000 words. All manuscripts should include a comprehensive abstract comprising ca. 100 words. Three neatly typed (double- or triple-spaced) copies of the manuscript (together with an IBM compatible diskette in ASCII text, Corel WordPerfect or Microsoft Word formats), as well as original copies of professionally designed and drafted illustrations, and tables, should be sent to either editor:

Copyright Information. Authors of accepted papers will be required to transfer and assign all relevant copyright and other privileges to the publisher; a special form can be furnished for the purpose. U.S. Government employees may limit such assignments, to the extent of their transferability. It is understood that papers submitted for publication have not been previously and will not be simultaneously published elsewhere. If a paper was initially written in a foreign language and translated into English prior to submission to International Geology Review, the author will need to sign a form to verify that such paper hitherto has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere in any language. If accepted for publication in International Geology Review, such paper subsequently may be published in one foreign language (though not in English), but no sooner than 12 months after its approval for publication in International Geology Review.

Permission is granted to authors to make occasional copies of their paper for use in research, study, and teaching, and to use short quotations, illustrations, and tables for publication in scientific works. Such uses must be appropriately credited. The publisher permits copying beyond this fair use (defined in sections 107 and 108 of the U.S. Copyright Law), provided that a per copy fee of $10.00 is paid to Copyright Clearance Center, Inc., 21 Congress Street, Salem, Massachusetts 01970. The Center's code for the journal is 0020-6814.

Consent to use the services of the Copyright Clearance Center does not extend to copying for general distribution, for promotion or advertising, for creating new collective works, or for other commercial purposes without specific written permission from the publisher for such copying.
